City Drain

When I was in the city, my apartment’s pipes always left the water tasting rusty and metallic—so I’d let the tap run for a full minute before drinking. It felt wasteful only in hindsight, because back in the city, the water bill is “cheap”. And my awareness never even registered water as precious.

But now I have moved to the countryside, and this memory now really renders me feeling the irony, which inspired me to create this painting.

This painting is part of my storytelling series. I'll be posting the rest soon in the future!
